Business Background

Over the last 5 years there have been several attempts at arriving at sets of KPI’s for the food and grocery industry. Most of these have been worked by being specifically contracted by individual companies or small groups. The intent of this project is to utilise the broad experience and depth of work already done around the globe, particularly in Europe and North America. The project should arrive at a set of industry KPI’s that allows the assessment of business processes for all members of the same industry whether they are manufacturers, wholesalers or retailers. The KPI’s should be similar to the European and North American KPI’s where possible to allow for commonality of assessment across geographic boundaries. This should also facilitate incorporation in globally consistent scorecards, currently under development, to permit international benchmarking.

Objective

Arrive at a common industry set of KPI’s which are operational measures focused on aligning performance assessment of individuals and individual processes within companies as they strive for improvement in business and ECR processes. Alignment throughout the Australasian food and grocery industry through their agreement by manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers should allow for a holistic assessment of ECR related operational processes.
