    ECRA Core Focus Areas

ECR Australasia has adopted three key focus areas, they represent significant opportunity for the local FMCG retail industry.

    On Shelf Availability

Identify key issues impacting on-shelf availability and facilitate initiatives that bring suppliers and retailers / wholesalers together to drive mutually beneficial outcomes.

    Value Chain Optimisation

Collaborate on non competitive value chain and waste reduction initiatives developing best practices and drive implementation to deliver improved outcomes for the industry.

    Business Systems and Standards

Identify, prioritise, align and drive the adoption and standardised approaches to data standards management and business information to facilitate common solutions to common problems.

    ECRA projects must:

    • be beneficial to the industry without being industry competitive.

    • be tested for practicality at an early stage.

    • be deliverable to the grocery industry.

    • be valuable in terms of creating common systems, mechanisms, language and building blocks.

    • yield the greatest returns (cost savings, sales and profit increases, efficiency improvements).

    • take up overseas knowledge for application in Australia (if appropriate).

    • be effectively communicated to the industry.

    • be able to be measured to ensure progress or success.

    Global Focus Areas

There are four focus areas under ECR. These areas are broken down further into core and advanced improvement concepts. They form the basis of the Global Scorecard.
