    Business Systems and Standards

ECRA challenges many existing approaches, which can often lead to inefficiency. Trading partners are asked to work together in order to increase value to the consumer. The intensifying competition amongst trading partners often presents an apparent barrier to achieving this.

However, just the opposite is true, there are broad range of activities where companies can collaborate to design, develop and implement industry standards, based on global principles but specific to Australian and New Zealand market conditions.

ECRA has since its inception focused on a broad range of industry standards that result in more efficient and cost effective value chains and that deliver benefit to the industry. In a market the size of Australia and New Zealand it makes no sense to have multiple standards for such issues as product identification, pallet labelling, product recall or retail ready packaging.

Common standards are a vital basic enabler to permit efficient and effective communication of product, replenishment and business data between trading partners.
